I have just purchased a Honeywell RTH7400 to replace an old DICO. I have seven wires going to my old thermostat and none of them are labeled. How can I determine which wire is which?

On the surface of the t-stat where the wires connect, you should see a bunch of letters like W,R,RC,G,Y,O,X,etc. Both t-stats will have letters and some stats will have more than others depending on the t-tat/application.
