I have a Bryant 75 model #517EN018075 running with a Programmable Honeywell Thermostat RTH7400D. I am not sure if the furnace is a single stage Heat Pump with no back up or AUX heat or a multistage conventional heating and cooling. Lately, the heat unit won't turn off when set temperature is reached. The heater is running contiounasly without stoping. Any ideas out there? Thanks.

Hi No responses on here yet. They said in another one that i should check option 180 but my stat goes from 170 to 190 and skips 180 even tho the manual says there should be one? You got that problem. Did you set your options on your stat?

I found option 180 and set that up, but that only works if I configure the thermost to "set up #10 Multistage conventional heating and cooling (1 stage heat, wire W, and 2 stages of cool, wire on Y and Y2.
Right now I set my Thermostat for #7 Multistage Heat Pumps (Heat and pump with AUX or back up heat). The problem is that I don't know what I have out there, besides the fact I have a heat pump unit... Thanks for the suggestion

yes. On installer set up 2- Single stage Heat Pump with no back up or AUX heat. After that you can pull up 180. I am desperate, I tried that also and still not warm enough and the fan keeps going....

I think they are refering to if you have electrical strips in the airhandler and emergency electrical backup. If you do its a multi stage heatpump system. If its the only source of heating system in your house it has electrical strip backup doesnt necessaraly have emergency ones tho. Does your air handler have two breakers in it....or one.......one is a heat strips....two has heat strips and emergency.
