My furnice keeps going out I turn it off then on. I go look at it. I see the automatic ignitor glow, then the 5 jets burn, then it appears as if the gas stops flowing properly and the sucker shuts off. It continually does this and it is freezing in New orleans right now, Please help

You may have a dirty flame sensor. Look for a short rod with a white (im ,ost cases) insulating body) located near one end of the burner tray. Remove the mounting screw and then the sensing rod, and use a scotch pad to clean the metal rod part of the sensor. erinsstall the sensor back to where it was, and if you have some spare #16 wire, mount this wire to the mounting bracket of the sensor and run it back to the ground screw of your igintion board (this will help provide a better grounding path from the flame sensor to the board). Hope this works for you. Oh, the most likey cause of this, is just the dirt in the air carbonizing on the flame rod when the burners are operating.
No matter how idiot proof you make something better idiots will always try and screw around with it!
