This is a Coleman furnace Model #BDGATO90BDD Manufactured by EVCON of Kansas. I have a signal light showing 3 flashes which states that the Centrifical switch is stuck open. Just what does this switch do; and is there anyway to test it?

Do you know the age of the unit. The ones I have worked on have a switch in the end of the ventor motor to prove that it is running and allow the burner to fire. If it is sticking you should get a serviceman in to fix it as it is a critical safety device. You may have to replace the motor. I don't know if the switch is available seperately.
Hope this helps

The unit is about 10 to 13 years old. I replaced the switch and motor it came as aone piece assembly. The motor was vibrating very bad; this resolved that problem. Thank You sheprr2174

The switch should close if the ventor motor is running. If the motor is seized up/ too slow/ or not running that is why.
