I have a Choice by York furnace Model # FG9B0601OUP11A from about 1998. I run the Swirlwind High-performance blower fan continuously to circulate air in the house with the windows closed. Now the motor or blower has failed. There is a quiet hum when I turn it on.
What is the most likely thing that needs to be replaced? Also, can an average person do this themselves?

have you tryed spinning the motor by hand? if it spins easily then it may just be the capaciter . if the blower is hard to turn then the bearings are dried out, which the best thing then would be to replace the motor and capacitor. the biggest cause of dried out bearings is when the filter isn't being changed enough, which over heats motor and then drying bearings out. changing the motor yourself isn't a good idea, call a service tech so they can order the proper size motor.
