Just looking at a Goodman AC and wondered if they are so-so. I think you get what you pay for. Any help? Thanks

You are correct in your assumption that you get what you pay for. Good manufacturers don't have to lure people in by warranties. People in the industry don't call them Janijunk and Junkatrol (Janitrol/Goodman) for nothing. Stick with Trane/American Standard/Lennox/Carrier/Heil.

Hey, Goodman was a p.o.s. but now they are o.k., but it must be installed properly. They also have the best warranty in the business...10 year parts and labor for like $50.00. There are better units out there, but for a cheaper unit, it ain't to bad...john...austin,texas

Yes they are very good compared to 5 + years ago. Your installer should do a proper load calculation and proper install, and you will be fine. Get 3 bids and remember just because someone gave you a low bid, does not mean you will get a quality install. Sometimes you get lucky though; but then again a larger company has many employees & a lot of overhead; and who can watch every installer/technician.
Lennox is good, but over priced, when they went public in 1999, they forgot about their contractors who built them up.
**** If you can visit a local Goodman Distributor and look at the equipment on display, before you buy any brand.****
Good luck
Gueax Saints!!
King Judd Employees must be trained properly to do the job you want them to do. TRAINING is the key!!!!! To proper installation of units!!!
