Is this furnace or line up of these 2 stage furnaces in the good books? I don't have the Consumer Report but some experts here might know by their experience in the industry.
I would like to find out if someone could help me measure the flame sense for the correct micro amps.Can a good Volt meter be used or do you have to buy a new something?

most of the time for the flame senser problem is that its just dirty, clean it with sand cloth and try it. to check micro amps you will need a meter that reads it

I have cleaned the flame sensor. I am not sure what meter I need to check micro amps though.

Look for a ľA symbol on the meter.

On which points do the probes go to measure and does it matter what mode the furnace is on at the time???

Hey, The flame sensor only gives a reading when the burners fire and the sensor is in the flame path. Is the ceramic collar loose or cracked? That will allow the flame sensor to ground and interrupt
the signal to the control board and it will recycle 3 times . Good luck...john...austin,texas

Thanks for your help. I replaced the flame sens. and now have 3.6 micro volt reading,also took burner assembly out and washed in hot soapy water and now have a smooooth ignition instead of jumpy or none at all. We shall see and wait how good this fix is.
