Hi I want to replace my Trane xe78 #tdd120c960ac with efficient furnace-looks like 120,000 btu . I live in stamford ct where whe winters are relatively short 4 months but cold. Air conditioning is fine and we rarely use it. The house is a split ranch approx 2000sq ft and the furnace is in the crawl space -horizontal.
I am new to this what do you recommend

120,000 Btu's sound a bit much for your climate. When you go to a high efficiency unit, many offer a two stage gas valve that will run at 60 or 65% on warmer days but can reach 100% of its rated output on thoes bitter cold days. I suggest you get a heat loss done and you may end up only using a smaller furnace (thus saving gas). Unless you have no insulation at all, a 60 or 80,000 Btu unit would be fine. I agree with the Carrier, get the 58UVB model, it will use much less electricity as well!

If they don't find ya handsome nor handy surgery may help!

I recommend Carrier, Trane and Lennox furnaces. If this crawl space is not subject to freezing temperatures, I recommend a 90% efficiency furnace.
