The BLOWER stopped working in any state (FAN ON or A/C). It looks like the motor is dead.

I checked all the 24VAC controls and they are OK. There is 120VAC to the motor but it is computer controlled by itself.
The control board does show the LED turning on when I set the thermostat to Fan ON. I have a gut feeling that the motor/ECM is shot.

So two things may be bad (in order of probability I think):
1/ Bad motor/ECM --> do not have TECmate to confirm it.
2/ Bad control board

Any experience or help from HVAC gurus appreciated?
Thanks...

IT WAS THE MOTOR/ECM ASSEMBLY. REPLACED AND ALL OK. UNDER WARRANTY. GO FIGURE HOW MUCH THIS COST IF THIS FAILS IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS. ANY IDEAS???

WE HAVE SOLD HUNDREDS OF ECM UNITS. MOST OF THE TIME IT IS ONLY THE MOTOR MODULE AND NOT THE MOTOR THAT IS BAD. OUR EXPERIENCE SHOWS THE MAJORITY OF FAILURES ARE FROM DIRTY FILTERS OR UNDERSIZED DUCTWORK CAUSING HIGH STATIC PRESSURES. FIX THAT PROBLEM BEFORE IT HAPPENS AGAIN. DUSTFARM

HI DUSTFARM. The house is zoned and the fan is on (38%) for recirculation all the time as it is a trilevel. My old Bryant furnace lasted 25years with no issues.

I guess Lennox or GE should have taken this into consideration when they spec out the motor drivers.... Haven't they heard about component derating?

These can be VERY exspensive motors, it would be worth spending a diagnostic fee to have a pro tell you one way or another.

Pay no attention to fitter his threads are crossed.

HVAC REPAIR IS NOT A DIY WEEKEND PRODJECT we techs that know this have 20 + years in the field and we have years and years of education. Trust me if you think you know it all you know nothing compared to a experenced trained technician.

How old is the furnace. Motor and circuit board should have a 5 year parts warranty. As Ace said, better to get a Lennox tech to check it before the problem gets worse/more expensive. There are other reasons it may not work but you may make the problem worse if you don't diagnose it properly. The service call should be between $100-200, money well spent to prevent a bigger problem. I am a Lennox tech and work on G60's and G61's. And, NO, Fitter the problem is not just Lennox, be fair, GE makes all those ECM motors.

Even Old Colonel Sanders had to retire, might be time for Ole Dave to do the same, what do you think? he's been messing up heating systems for a long time...LOL

yuri did you know that Lennox invented the forced air heating system? Also Carrier invented the central A/C system!
Just a little trivia from your bud fitter...LOL

Please ignore Acefurnacefxer he hates himself for being a theft It's hard when you can't look at yourself in the mirror.

If this is covered under warranty do not touch it. If not, you might verify 120 volts to your motor and 12 volts DC at terminals 1 and 6 with a cooling demand.

You got to be REALLY, REALLY careful how you work on those motors. Just went to a 1 day ICP school last week. There are 3 large capacitors in those motors/modules with enough juice to kill a person. Must be powered down for 5 minutes to bleed off. Easy to blow a circuit board if the proper procedures are not followed.

I would definitely unplug the motor and only test the harness to it. I have performed this test many times.
