We have a intercity products heat pump model #CH5030VKB2 and its only in the 50's this morning and we had the thermostat set at 73 and the unit is covered in frost and by looking through the top I can see that it is on the inside of the coils too? It did this yesterday also and we let it thaw out and then it just did it again. Also it seems to be running louder than usual.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I want to catch a costly problem before it happens.

Probably your defrost timer. You should have it serviced.

"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.
