I have a Trane High efficiency furnace thyat I want to convert from Natural gas to propane. The furnace model number is TUD100R9V3K which is at least 94% efficient. I was told that I have to change out the gas valve for this. I have a Rheem high efficiency furnace that I bought for my house a few years ago that came all set-up with natural gas and alls I had to do was change the spring in the gas valve and change out the orfice tips on each burner to go to propane. Can you also tell me where to buy a conversion kit?

Not something you should do yourself unless you know what u r doing. U have to set the gas pressure properly

I can check tomorrow on the cost and get back to you. I am a trane dealer. I will have to call my supplier and check on cost. Look at my user info and use the e-mail info and e-mail me your phone number and I will call you if you would like. I know you will need to change the valve. I think you will need to change the orfices on the burners. I need to check on that.

Why would you have to change the gas valve? Can't you just chnage the spring in the valve and change the orfices? Please advise the cost or where I could get the conversion kit. Thanks so much.

I'm sure that the valve is for NG only and it is not a universal valve and can not be changed over to LP.

Have you had a chance to see what I would have to change for the conversion and the price and where I could get the parts from?
