My husband and I have been trying to replace our thermostat all day. We have tried many wiring combinations and just don't know what to do. We have our Trane wiring diagram. We had a baystat240 Weathertron. We bought a Hunter 44860. The Hunter says it will work on multistage heat pump--although I am not sure if my system is one stage or multistage. Wiring weathertron-hunter B-C X2-W2+E(there is a jumper to connect these two) W-W1 T-nothing G-G O-O(have also tried O to B without success) Y-Y1 R-R
so that leaves L and B unconnected on the Hunter. Also when the system comes on the air turns on just fine but the option for emergency heat never shows up on the display. Any help would be appreciated. As it is we will be very cold tonight since we accidentally broke our old thermostat when taking it off the wall. eta:not sure if I was clear but the air works fine but the heat will not turn on. Thanks in advance!!

Thank you--after my husband disconnected it all we got to studying the manual and found the page where it tells you to configure it to heat pump(we went in search after reading several of the other posts). Thank you though on the wiring clarification!! You guys are great!!

OK we have finally gotten around to trying to replace the thermostat again. We followed your wiring instructions and set the thermostat to heat pump. Still the only thing that works is the a/c not the heat. Any ideas?
