hello, the other morning I woke up to my heater fan motor running and no heat. the thermostat gave a filter message but it was clean.aftermarket washable/reusable. I tried to turn the fan off at the thermostat, but to no avail. Thinking it was the thermostat I disconected it from the system and the blower still blows but no ignition.I'm thinking the blower board may have fained due to a resistor in the board showing some discoloration at the ends on the board. ina earlier posting from someone else the posibility of a failed limiter was suggested. any ideas of where to go to next?

Sounds like you either have a flame roll out switch that needs reset, or a limit switch open. Is this a upflow or down flow furnace? If down flow, shut off power, remove blower door, you should find a limit switch with a red button, once you locate it, push on the red button, listen to see if it clicks. Flame roll out switches will be near the burners and should have a similar but smaller red button. The main limit, if either of the ones I mentioned above don't take care of it, will need to be ohmed out.
