Hi All, I'm not a AC expert. I was told by my service man that rheem trane carrier etc all use the same internal parts. Such as fan coils compressors etc. He says your just paying for the name. Is this true? My new unit does not say anything on it except for model number FEM2X6000. I'm going by memory hopefully I'll got it right. Oh it does say international comfort I think.
Thanks in Advance

Well, your tech is incorrect in that statement by virtue of manufacturing standards. Not all coils are the same and componentry can vary drastically. Coils are manufactured to meet specific cabinet sizes, SEER ratings, specific equipment sub-cooling or superheat ratings. The statement is simply inaccurate.
