Hi, I have a Hunter digital thermostat #44110 I installed last year. Worked fine last winter, all summer, and this winter until the other day.
Furnace was operating in the manual hold setting on the thermostat, with fan set to auto. When it reached the temp, the fan just kept blowing with the burners off and wouldn't shut off, and the burners wouldn't kick back on unless turned off, then back to auto.
Then got a low battery warning. Replaced those, got a "Err" display. Pulled the batteries and thermostat from the wall clip and let it set to reset. Put it back on and worked about a week, now it's doing the same thing. I assume it's the thermostat but wanted to make sure the furnace wouldn't send an error message to the thermostat.
I can still turn it to off, then back on, and the burners will fire, then it happens all over again. Thanks!

if you remove your t-stat, twist the red and white wire together, if the furnace works just fine, I would replace faulty t-stat.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Hunter said the Err message meant it was a bad thermostat and they're sending out a new one free of charge. Thanks again, Kevin

Well, put in the new thermostat and it's still happening. The furnace is a Trane XE90. Kicking thermostat up, heat kicks on fine. Then after a time, the burners kick off and the fan never does. Burners never kick back on even as the temp falls and fan will continue to blow. I can then manually turn the thermostat to off and the fan will go off, then back to heat, and the burners will immediately fire again as if it has a normal call for heat. Then it does it again.
Any other ideas besides the thermostat? Sure don't want to stand there every 15 minutes and keep turning it off and back on to keep the heat up. Thanks!
