I am trying to replace my thermostat with a new programmable one. I am not an electrician, but have an adequate level of knowledge with regards to electricity, so I figured I could handle this one.
My old stat was a janitrol HPT 18-80. The wires on it were connected relatively similarly to the colors
Y - grey G - green R - red O - orange W2 - white E - black C - blue
Replacing with a honeywell RTH7000 Series. The wire identifiers are pretty similar and straight forward, with the exception of the Aux / W2. Aux is on the heat pump side, with W2 on teh conventional side. Is hooking up the wire from my old thermo's W2 to the Aux / W2 connector ok?
Thanks
Dave
