thats right red=low blue=medium black=high I also tried connecting red and blue=blew tried stacking them with white=common same speed. One thing is that I don't know which speed it is running now.

I tried each lead with common first. That was when I noticed no change in air flow. When I connected 2 speeds together it tripped the circuit breaker. Rather than tell me what I should have done, tell me what I should do. I just wondered if anyone on this site knew how to wire the motor so that I could get different speeds. Thanks...Bo

Do Not connect more then one speed together, or you will burn the motor up.

What I did was tie one speed to common and the next speed to hot. That was when it tripped the breaker. I assumed when it tripped the breaker that saved the motor. Not so? I am just a curious nut, not an AC man. I thought this forum was where I could go to see if I could get a question answered. If I have hammered somebody I didn't know it.

Which you probably did and now you only have one speed.
Motor is probably FUBAR.

Still runs, just at one speed. What would happen with the motor if I had (burned it up)? If it will run at one speed after being burned up will it still run at all 3 if I learn how to wire it correctly which is all I wanted to do.

what voltage motor do you have, are you hooking it up to correct voltage?

the motor is a GE 1/3HP 115V(that I hooked it up to) 5.80A. the blower is in a wooden box I built from some 3/4" cabinet grade plywood I had lieing around. The intake is a good bit bigger than the outlet. I was trying to balance the output from the box with fan speed/volume. when I couldn't get more than one speed out of it I jumped on you guys, but got jumped on back!! Thanks...Bo
