I recently had some work done on a commercial rooftop unit that services my residential home. I got a new heat exchanger, collector box, motor wheel and gas valve.

How much do you figure this would cost with labour? I got some prices and was looking for something reasonable.

thanks everyone

Not enough information. Depoends on unit size (Mod/Ser #'s would help) and what part of the country you live in. Other factors would be access to unit, Crane lift etc.

Not a clue, I'm in Indiana and don't have an idea of Canada pricing, although I like to spend money in Toronto. Repost and seek Yuris' advice. I believe he lives in Canada.

My advice is get three quotes and then ask our opinion. looks like a typo, May the number be PGAA18C1K1. ( 1 1/2 ton )

I would have to assume that this is not a huge rooftop if its serving a home so your probably looking at paying a couple of guys for 2-3 hours of work. A lot of companies in Ottawa and Toronto now just set a price usually somewhere between $500 and $700 for a residential furnace I wouldnt expect that its that hard on a small rooftop either. I go around $500 but thats mostly because all the heat exchangers I have been changing are keeprites and the supplier is charging shipping fees now because he has to ship so many of them out.

12years as a service tech in Ottawa and the valley. Just left Direct Energy to start my own company. Go to www.reliableheating.ca or email me at adrian@reliableheating.ca
