I wondered if one needs a vacuum pump in addition to refrigerant recovery system if the primary use of the recovery system is for residential and auto use. I've noticed that some recovery systems like the older Flouromizer 3000H is advertized as being able to pull a 15 in Hg vacuum. That led me to think that the recovery system can be used ot pull a vacuum.
Thanks for any comments.

15 inches of vacuum is not enough to evacuate a system. It should be pulled down to 500 microns for proper moisture removal, and you will need a vacuum pump for that.

I sure as hell wouldnt be using a reclaimer to vacuum out systems. One is almost three times the cost of the other get a vacuum pump.
