In the evening, we set back to 62. At 4:30 am, the automatic thermostat is programmed to bring the temperature back up to 67 for the remaining day. However, at a 65 reading on the thermostat, the furnace just shuts down for at least 5 minutes or more, after which it will start up again and raise the temp. to the called for 67.
Is this normal, or does it indicate something needing service or about to fail?
Thanks, Don

#1 That furnace should have its heat exchanger pressure tested every 4 yrs by a Lennox tech for cracks as per Lennox. Huge safety issue.
If you set your stat back more than 4 degrees the stat has a heat anticipator/cycles per hour circuit and it may cycle the furnace off if it takes more than 20 minutes to warm up the house. That is not unusual. Try a shorter setback and see if the problem goes away. Some furnaces after running for more than 10 minutes may start to cycle on the limit control and reset etc. Best to get the unit checked out by a Lennox tech anyway. Lots of techs are not familiar with Pulses.
