I have a heat pump with electric auxillary heat backup. I don't think I wired my new Honeywell 8320 thermostat correctly. I don't think the auxillary heat is coming on because it's taking over 2 hours for the temperature to increase 6 degrees. Can someone tell me if I have it wired right?
My old Carrier non-programmable termostat configuration: Orange - O/W2 Red - R Yellow - Y/Y2 Green - G Brown - C
New Honeywell 8320 cinfiguration: Orange - AUX Red - R Yellow - Y Green - G Brown - C
Thanks for any help

Gota have an O or B for the 4-way valve to operate in heat pump mode

If you have a heat pump, I would expect to see orange to O/B and a white wire to Aux.
option 170 = 7 option 190 = 0
Post the make and model number for your outdoor unit for verification.
"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.

Thanks for the quick response. The outside unit is a Carrier Model 38YKC 10 SEER split system heat pump. I do have a black, blue and white wire that were not used with the previous thermostat.
