We have a York Diamond 80. The unit does not come on. I have limited to no experience in this area. There is an indicator light which blinks 7 times. I think this means "lockout with no ignition - after three tries.

Does anyone have any thoughts or should we call a technician.

We hear the gas open three times and you get a very slight smell of the gas. This happens three times then it shuts down. At no point do I ever see a flame. The furnace comes on, but there is no flame.

Thanks.

Does your ignitor have any obvious physical damage?

H,

Yes, there does appear to be slight damage to the ignitor. It is a bit less than the image you posted. There is also a white/gray residue on the ignitor.

Is this easy enough to replace. At this point we have a contractor coming out tomorrow. Let us know what you think.

Thanks again.

Reset power to your furnace and watch as it goes through it's paces.

inducer fan starts

Hot surface ignitor glows

Gas valve opens (usually hear a click)

Fan motor runs

If you see a flame at all burners and it locks out anyway, clean your flame sensor with steel wool or emery cloth. Do not use sand paper.
