Just bought a 1930's house with an addition (including kitchen), and noticed the new kitchen corner cabinet was unusually warm (melting chocolate chips on the lazy susan...). Pulled some trim, and felt a strong air flow from the joints between cabinets when the new furnace runs. I couldn't get all the way under to see, but this is all new construction, so I can only assume they placed a floor register, then covered it up with cabinets for some completely unknown and unfathomable reason.
I haven't poked around the crawl space yet, but assuming I'm right, what's the best way to cap off this particular vent outlet from below? There's another register about 10 feet away, but I don't know which is further upstream.
Thanks

If the duct is Flex. Squeeze the duct closed with Zip ties, duct tape, string, whatever and be certain that it won't come undone. If it is ridgid, you will have to purchase a sheetmetal cap for the duct. They are measured at the diameter. And screw the cap in place with sheetmetal screws and duct tape any leaks.
