American standard 5000 installed in 1993 cuts off. When i turn digital thermostat up to call for heat the inducer starts, ignitor glows, hear a whoosh, and if it does start it will only run for maybe 10 seconds real good thru all 3 burners then it's like u shut the gas valve off. Blower and inducer will keep running. Ignitor glows on and off maybe 25 times before it finally ignites and runs again for 10 seconds. Repairman has replaced module, flames sensor, ignitor, high limit switch and gas valve. I have him stumped. I've seen on posts something about pressure switch...is that the only part left to change? By the way it's a natural gas,i did jumper thermo, removed air filter, checked 3" pvc intake and the burners look like new. Any replies would be greatly appreciated!

To still have a problem after changing 5 parts isn't right. Sounds like the repair man is a parts changer not a technician. All of the parts that have been changed so far should have been proven to be good or bad with the proper meters or tester. I would recommend calling another reputable HVAC company to find your problem.
If in doubt call a pro !

Normally when the burner drops out and the blower and inducer continue to run it is a limit. The furnace is overheating and is trying to cool off.
Be careful sometimes you don't get a second chance

Does it sound like the flme is being blown out or just dies? Gas pressure regulator, maybe. What is your gas pressure at main gas valve, service tech will have to check. You need to monitor gas pressure during a cycle. Don't change anymore parts until you are certain. The good news is that there isn't too many more parts to change

Thanks for all the responses. I happened to mention problem to co-worker who was former heating and cooling tech for 25 yrs. He doesn't EVER give advice but after seeing the frustation i had, he pulled me aside and said "change the pressure switch" Guess what...running like a new one. once again thanks!
