I have just recently purchased a manufactured home with an Intertherm E2EB unit. I have a Miller thermostat that shows 'EM heat' and 'heat' listed as heating options. When EM heat is chosen and the thermostat is set high enough, I get two lights to come on.. 'EM heat' in red and 'AUX heat' in green. I have tried to find an operations/owners manual, but have been unsuccesful. When in EM heat mode, the air from the ducts feels warm, otherwise the air is just luke warm at best and the unit runs all the time. I really just need for someone to explain to me the most efficient use of this system as my heating bills are killing me.
thanks

EM is usually emergency heat and is used when you have a heat pump and it fails or cannot keep up with the heating demand. It kicks on additional electric elements. Sounds like your primary heating elements are not working. May have a burnt out element/bad sequencer/burnt wiring. Best to get a electrician who works on electric furnaces or a heating tech who is familiar with them to check it out ASAP. Malfunctioning electric furnaces can burn wire and be hazardous.
