I have a Totaline P286-1200 digital thermostat controling a 2-stage Trane XV90 gas furnace. Once the thermostat shows that it has reached the setpoint temp, it continues to run the heat for a while and seems to warm the air temp beyond the setpoint (it is usually running the second stage heat and really blasting out the warm air by this time). Do digital thermostats have setpoints that simulate the heat anticipator adjustments of mechanical thermostats? Trying to figure out how to get tighter control of the temperature swings. PS...... first stage heat is set to come on at 1 degree diff from setpoint and second stage heat is set to come on at 2 degree difference or 10 minutes after first stage comes on, which ever is required.

some do , not sure of this model. take tstat off wall and check temperature in wall thru tstat wire hole, if its 2 deg cooler than room temp, seal the hole.

Be good to your fellow man not nice there is a difference.
