I'm having heating problems with my boiler system. It will only maintain a temperature about 20 degrees cooler than the thermostat setting. The strange thing is the master bedroom zone seems to be working fine. Supposedly, the main thermostat in the family room where I am having the problem, has to be set at least as high as the second thermostat for the bedroom system to work properly. Please help.

twenty degrees cooler sounds more like you have no heat at all in that space. is this house zoned with circulators or zone valves. have you made any repairs recently, is there any reason air could be bound up in your system. if you are zoning with zone valves you can check to see if the valve is open by maunually pushing the stem down. if you are using circulators you could check the amp draw of the circ to tell you if it is doing any work.
