I have an old Trane/Amer. Standard Baystat240 (3aat80b1a1) and I have been trying to buy and hook up a new thermostat to no avail. I live in a condo so I'm not sure what system I have.
In the water closet I have a Trane/AS Model #: TMV0258140A1 furnace.....

The wiring I have in the Trane thermostat is:

R
T - Outside Temp????
O
G
Y
X2
B
W
F - not used

U seems to be jumped to W

What is the best new Thermostat to get and will it be easy to hook up? Thanks!

The Honeywell RTH7400 or the RTH7500 would support your system.

Baystat = Honeywell
R = Rc & R
T = tape off (your new stat does not require a thermistor for proper heat operation.
O = O/B
Y = Y
X2 = E
B = C
W = Aux

I found no information on that TMV number but that is a mulistage heatpump stat.

Set option 170 to 7 and option 190 to 0 on your new stat.

"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.

I have a G as well. I'm assuming connect it to G on the Honeywell?
The R from the Trane. Does it matter if it goes into RC or R on the Honeywell.

I tried hooking it up and the Auto fan does not come on when I raise the heat. The Heat blows cold. The Fan does work when I turn it on. I'm very confused. This is the right thermstat after buying 2 others that did not work. Any help would be appreciated.
