Hello!

I am in need of some help, I just moved into a house that has a garage wall furnace, that will not kick on. I've followed the gas line all the way back to the branch from the furnace and all valves are on, the unit has electricity, the thermostat works...I'm out of answers. The information I could find on the unit is it was made for Sears by another company (couldn't read name), the manufacturer # is SWGAA30AD01, but I was unable to find anything regarding that number online. The direct spark ignition and the gas valve are by Honeywell. The direct spark igniter is model S87D, and the gas valve did not clearly have a model number, but I believe it is 8352 (was on valve just not labeled as the model). I've tried to reset it via the thermostat but no luck, gas valve is turned on...but when I flip the switch on the side for the igniter to kick in, it just sparks and there is no flame. Any ideas? Some pictures below (I know the gas valve is in the off position in the picture).

The Unit

It sparks!

I would say it needs a new spark ignition. My furnace was doing same thing. Try this.. while it is sparking just blow air across it and see if burners come on.. If so i am sure that the spark ignition needs replaced.. at least in my opion...

Thanks, I'll give it a shot when I get home from work tonight. Is it not possible to light the burners manually, or will the gas valve not open without the direct spark working?

Thanks again,

Cole
