I've skimmed the forums and found similar problems with this unit, but not quite like the problem I have. A few weeks ago I noticed that my furnace just wasn't able to keep the temp up in the house when it got really cold outside. I watched it operate for a few minutes and noticed that the gas ignites just fine but won't stay on for longer than about 60 seconds, and the blower seems to run almost constantly.
So it seems all the conditions are right for ignition, it just won't STAY ignited. Something is happening after about 60 seconds that it doesn't like, and the gas goes off.
But here's the real kicker. I removed the access doors and held in the door switch to get a closer look at what was going on. The unit works fine with the door off! The gas runs indefinitely and the house gets warm in no time. I tooled around with that for a while and found that the bottom door (the vented one that goes over the gas valve and all that) has no effect on operation, whether it is on or off. But the top door, the non-vented one that covers the blower and the control board, must be off for the unit to work correctly. Any ideas?

Sounds like you have dirty filters somewhere in return line,so your system isnt getting enough airflow and going off on limit switch.Check for dirty filters or return air duct blockage

You nailed it, my friend! I just moved into this house last summer, and the owner informed me that they have a "summer filter" and a "winter filter". Both are the washable, reusable metal kind. The summer is a very thin screen, and the winter is a thick mesh. I popped the summer filter back in and it works like a charm. I guess I need to wash the winter filter and see if it will work again.
By the way, I like your signature. One of my favorite quotes. Check your spelling on Einstein though. =)
Thanks again!!!!!
