I have a carrier 2 and half ton unit that is 13 years old. Everytime the unit cuts on to heat and then cuts off, its like the defrost kicks on and there is a lot of water under the unit on the concrete slab. the temp is around 45 degrees right now. is this normal. It had a leak in the coil that i just got fixed and the guy ran a vacumn on it and the charged it and said there was no more leaks.

Thanks.

It is normal. The unit is going into its normal defrost mode. Just like a self defrosting fridge. Sometimes it may look like steam coming out of it while in defrost mode.
