The display of this unit goes blank when the oil furnace fires on (and other times as well). The T8600D is wired as a heat-only, single transformer system (1 red and 1 white wire used, with the red wire jumping the R and RC terminals). The unit does not have batteries, it uses the 24v from the system wire.
Is this a problem with the unit, or is this a standard operating characteristic for this thermostat? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

I believe you nee a third wire from c on the fur. to c n the t-stat. Without it you would need batteries for the stat.
