Hello everyone,

about defrosting not working on a Rheem classic IX heat pump

Suddenly for unknown reason the coil defrost sensor has fall apart and hit the fan, after this incident i inspect everything and everything seem to be fine except for defrosting cycle !!

Here what i did;

-i follow this similar to my prob. thread

1 Test the sensor and no ohms reading signal out of it!

2 Jumper across the 2 terminals of defrost thermostat sensor on defrost control board. No result!

3 I jumpered 2 test pin on defrost control board and defrost cycle finally start. wait for defrost and jumpered again 2 test pin, defrost cylce stop.

So, do i need a defrost sensor or defrost control board or both ??
