New to site, enjoy all your posts. Currently enrolled in HVAC at local community college. Goals are to support golfing in retirement. However, my heat pump went out about two years ago, since replaced original compressor with copeland two ton during class. Nitrogen tested unit repaired some leaks in condenser coil. Sweated unit back in at home, pulled vaccuum, weighted in R22 refrigerant. Condenser leaks, evacuated system, repaired leak. Question, with this being an aluminum condenser coil,am I wasting precious time and money trying to save this unit. I probably have $600 bucks invested already.

Definately! Personally I might consider a leak repair or a compressor change but with both problems I would scrap it.
You can't put a price on comfort! Be Safe.
