Hey,
I have a Payne furnace model PG8MAA042090.I Had A "Hot surface Ignitor go out,so I replaced it.I though as long as I am doing this why not replace the thermostat.I bought a "Hunter 44860 touch screen model" and replaced that along with my HSI.But Now The furnace shuts off before reaching the set thermastat temp. What happens is the heat goes out the blower stays on,I start getting a 33 error code (Limit Circuit Fault)then after 3 minutes the blower shuts off and I get a code 13 "Limit circuit lockout"Code list says it will reset after 3 hours. It never did this before.Any help would be apreciated.Thanks,Blue.

Most likely a dirty filter or a/c coil.

If you say so, but what do I know? I'm just an HVAC service technician. 9 out of 10 times those switches are open for a reason. Without a meter it is hard to say which switch is open so therefore this is all just speculation.

Duke is right. They don't open for no reason. Probably your old stat had shorter cycles and it never ran long enough to get to the limit control point. Some of those Paynes are real low (170-180 degF). You need to check the temp rise thru the furnace. It should be rated for ex.35-65 degF and be on the model# sticker. Check the supply air temp about 2 feet downstream of the supply bonnet and subtract the return temp after it has ran for 5-10 minutes. You may need to have your ducts cleaned, make sure all vents are open and/or increase your fan speed and check the A/C coil. If it has been "riding" the limit control it may be getting weak and need replacing.

Well after some web searching I found that the hunter will cause errors on the furnace. It has something to do with The way it calculates the amount of heat needed to reach a set temp.I put the old murcury back on and ran it solid for an hour to get it up to 80 with no issues. With the hunter it was lucky to run 20 minutes before the burners would kick off and was never able to reach set temp.I will double check those Vent and return temps thanks.
If you guys have any idea on a replacement please let me know.I really love the hunter it was easy to program and set up instructions were on the money.Loved the touch screen.I really want a 7 day 4 program one.
Thanks for the help.Any Recomendations would be great.Lowes has a 99. honeywell I started to get.Are they any good?
Thanks again guys.

Buy the Honeywell and you will be happy. Easy to program and very reliable.

Be careful sometimes you don't get a second chance
