I have an old Lennox ES2 electric furnace I need to replace. I need to stick with an electric furnace as the house is not hooked for gas. Lennox doesn't appear to make any new electric furnaces. Can anyone suggest a good replacement brand? I am hoping a newer electric furnace will be a little bit more energy effcient than the 30+ year old Lennox ES2. Any info/suggestions greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately electric heat is about 100% efficient and you will never get more than that but if you have a/c you can replace it with a heatpump system with electric backup heat and that will cost less to operate. I will not recommend a brand but the quality of installation, reputation of contractor, and warranties are more important than the name brand. I wouldn't suggest Goodman though.

Actually most new electric furnaces have a variable speed/ECM/BPM option. So you will see an increase in efficiency on the fan motor operation.

And Lennox does offer what you need. It's an airhandler / element combo.
