or maybe i should ask "what should i not buy?" Thanks to this forum i now know my HP is a 3 ton unit and in looking for a replacement, anyone have any good/bad reviews? thanks

It really depends on which way you would like to go, I would definatly make sure that you have a copeland scroll compressor and you may want to be wary of the variable speed fan motors, although they operate very well, the replacement cost is astronomical.
