I have a suncutter ac\heatpump unit that dosen't want to start.
I have voltage to the fuses both in and out. No voltage at the thermostat. Is there a relay that may need to be replaced. Any help please.

Thank Brian

You will need to open up air handler and check for 24v from R to C then report back. Also look for small automotive type fuse that may have blown due to a shorted wire/component.

R and C don't stand for anything. They are wire connection terminals where tstat wires connect to. R=24v hot from transformer, C=common side of transformer.

If there's definately no fuse or breaker in the unit then your transformer is bad. Unfortunately you must now look for a short in the wiring or a shorted component. That is what would normally blow a transformer.

Do you think the blower motor stopping would fry the transformer? It stopped once before last year and tripped the circuit breaker. I gave it a spin and reset the breaker no problems until now.

Let me backup a step here. Do you have power to the air handler? Is the breaker tripped?

This is a package ac system. The breaker was last year. Just thought the blower might have quit again. It's an old system don't think it's worth having a Pro come out. If I can't get it going I'll just go new.
Thanks For Yor help.
