Hi,
Can anyone help as we are currently working on the above air conditining unit and the inside blower appears to be working and the outside compressor is working. All the filters and the back of the compressor appear to be clean. What happens is the unit only works for 30 minutes and shuts down.
I have filled the LP side to 100 PSI and the thicker pipe (LP) is cold and the smaller (HP) is a neaural temperature and pressure is holding ?
Any suggestions would be great.
Regards Nick

Thank you for getting back Regards tigerlily

Hi,
The refrigerant is R22 and the low pressure for this unit is 0.7MPa and the HP reading is 2.45MPa. I calcualted the lp reading in PSI and got a 100 PSI, then charged the unit from the LP side to 105 PSI. Can you please suggest anything else that we can do?

Thank you for getting back Regards tigerlily

A 22 system should never run at 100psi on the low side. 80 psi if the space being cooled is hotter than Hell. Sounds like you've overcharged the system. Reclaim the refrigerant, Find the proper charge on the manufaturers label or contact the manufacturer. Weigh in the charge. On an average day, the suct. press. should be around 61 to 70 psi

Hi,
Have lowere pressure and the unit is now blowing cold air, however the unit is still switching itself off after about 30 minutes. Have looked in the maunal about bleeding air and we have been trying this as suggested in the hand book, but the same still happens. There are 4 flashes on the inside unit. Can you suggest anything else ?

Thank you for getting back Regards tigerlily

Hi,
Have looked at the manurfactures lable which reads lp 0.7 MPa and the HP side is 2.45 MPa. After converting the LP it was 105 PSI. I will reclaim some of the refregerant as suggested and make sure the charge is not above 80 PSI and see if there is any difference.
Cheers for the advice.

Thank you for getting back Regards tigerlily

First quetion is what type of refrigerant is in the sysmem? If it's r-22, then you have drastically overcharged the a/c. If you don't know what you are doing, you can ruin that machine in no time.
