Before I installed the new t-stat the AC could get really cold if I turned it down low. Now, with the new t-stat the air only seems to get cool and it doesn't feel like the humidity is being removed. My old t-stat had the wires R, W, Y, and G. I don't think this unit is a heat pump. I have used the conventional wiring described in the installation guide ( R and RC connnected) R = R W = W Y = Y G = G
I hooked up a second unit (a heat pump) that also is using the RTH7500 and it is working great.

Does the outdoor unit start with cooling demand? If everythings starts as it should,(and your panel is on) I recommend having your unit serviced.

No, the AC is not starting at all. I thought it was but the fan was set to "on" instead of "auto". I turned to fan to auto and turned the temp down low and the AC is not starting.

Did you remove power to the heater before replacing your stat?

Yes, I turned to breaker off for the unit.

Does it start when you touch your yellow to the red wire? (R to Y)
