Is there any cleaning detergend other than Dax, which is rather pricey, that can be used to clean the cells in an electronic air cleaner? I understand automatic dishwashing liquid can be used. Is this ture and which brand? I understand there are stipulations as to chlorine content, etc. Thank you

Hi, I wash the cells with kitchen dish washer. Been doing this many years. I leave it outside when weather is breezy and hot to dry them good before putting it back.

Use "Simple Green" or any other citrus based soap. Talked to a rep from Honeywell and he recommended them. Not as corrosive to the aluminum.

special HD calclean -- one part calclean to four parts water, spray it on, let it set 5 - 15 minutes, wash it off with garden hose good, and let it dry. Read the directions on the bottle, and what it cleans just under the label.
