The other day I noticed that when my thermostat clicked over to turn on the AC Unit, no air came out of vents. I went to the outside unit and found that the fan motor was on. I looked down into the unit and could see that the AC lines had frosted over white.

I was hoping someone had some ideas on what might be the problem. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just some history on AC unit. I had been noticing that the AC Unit would not turn on or off as it should. By this I mean that the temp would go about 5 degrees above set temp on thermostat before engaging. Or when cooling it would cool 4 or 5 degrees colder than set temp before turning off. The swing temp on thermostat is at 2 degrees. The thermostat is a year old and worked fine last summer.

By turning on Air Conditioner from Stat it works fine. Turns on and off without problems and cold air comes out. The furnace filters are these the blue filters that keep dust from being sucked into the vents. If so they are clean replaced a week ago.

Hi,
My best guess is you may have loose control wire(s) between 'stat and control board or 'stat itself is acting up.

Hi,
Have you checked the blower inside the furnace as well? Or you can just turn the fan on from 'stat and see if air flows. When is the last time did you replace the furnace filter?
