Hi all
anyone have the colour meaning for a Old York reverse Cycle split ducted unit
trying to replace the original thermostat control with a new Honeywell Focus Pro TH5110D

Heres a pic of the outdoor unit control board
http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/l...5081652-02.jpg

The wire thats got me puzzled is the piont-O on the out door board its the one with the thicker white wire

This is what is on the out door board

anyone able to let me know if this is correct? PLease

(w)= white = heat relay?
(r) = red = 24vac power from heating?
(y) = yellow =Comp Contactor?
(b) = Black 24vac Common?
(o) = white (thick) 24vac power from cooling?

Post a picture of the connection diagram in your heatpump.

Your picture did not post. Left click the IMG code, right click and paste on your post.

The Honeywell has theses pin outs

TH5110D

(Rc)=Linked to (r)
(r)=24vac power from heating
(y)=Compressor contactor
(c)=24vac Common (for 2 transformer systems use common wire from cooling transformer)
(w)=heat relay or (o) - (b)
(g)=Fan relay

(w) can be wired with (y) ?

York controler

(w)= white = heat relay
(r) = red = 24vac power from heating
(y) = yellow =Comp Contactor
(b) = Black 24vac Common
(o) = white (thick) Reversing

I am trying to answer my own questiions ...
Am i on the right track..? anyone able to let me know if this is correct? PLease

Thanks in advance

Your stat is not compatible with your multistage heatpump. You need separate O/B and W terminals. The TH5220 or 5320 will control your system. The 11 in TH5110 means 1 heat 1 cool.

Most modern Honeywell digital stats do not require a W to Y jumper.

Your common is black not blue, as in my diagram.

I always take several pictures in the hope that one isn't very blurry ;)

Thanks for that ,was scratching my head, havent had much to do with old york heat pumps, the old york units have different wiring colors as well?

TH5220

(Rc)=Linked to (r)
(r)=24vac power
(y)=Compressor contactor
(c)=24vac Common
(o)=reverse valve
(g)=Fan relay
(Aux)=Heat relay

York controler

(w)= white = heat relay
(r) = red = 24vac power
(y) = yellow =Comp Contactor
(b) = Black 24vac Common
(o) = white Reversing

So the set up would be on the TH5220
1 System Type:
Settings & Options
5 = 2 heat/1 cool heat pump

2 Changeover valve:
Settings & Options
0 = Changover valve o/b energised in cooling
3 Fan speed:
Settings & Options
1 = thermostat controls fan on heating

The other question i have is the fan wire(G)on the out door control board is Not conected anywhere? There is no place for it
i asume the Thermostat controls it?

If you left click letters IMG Code to the left of the URL, you can post pictures directly on this site.

G does not connect to the outdoor unit.

The color combination at your outdoor unit will not help wire your stat as much as a picture of the wiring at the existing stat and the air handler. Both wire sets run to the air handler. The set using green is from the stat.

I suspect that a different wire color is in use for O at the stat.
