I recently installed a 42999B Hunter Thermostat when it was cold and everything for heat worked fine. My heat unit is a natural gas York Diamond 80 with a seperate a/c unit outside. It's starting to heat up here and when I went to turn the a/c on nothing happened. I check the wiring from the thermostat to the heater and every thing matched up. From the control board it has 2 wires (red and white) going outside to the a/c unit. The red wire is on "C" with the blue wire from the thermostat and the white wire is on "Y" with the yellow wire from the thermostat. I'm not sure if these are in the correct place..... Need help!!
OK.... I disconnected the blue wire on thethermostat and put the jumper back in from Rh to Rc. The central blower unit now comes on but the a/c unit outside is still won't turn on. Don't know what else to do.....

I don't see a thermostat C terminal in the manual. Be sure that the condenser (outside unit) is still connected to Y and C at your furnace.

I never touched any of the wires inside the central unit in the garage. I'm just having a problem getting the outside a/c unit to turn on.

Your outdoor unit must be connected to Y and common to start. It is unusual to have the condenser wire run to the stat. This should not be a problem.
List the color of each wire that is connected to each terminal. example red = r
Was your blue wire connected to C on the old stat?

Do you want the color of wires connected to the t-stat or to the central air unit?

I want to know the original thermostat (terminal = wire) combination.
