I have a Goodman heat and air unit. I'm not sure what model or year. It had a control module go bad so I replaced it, an ICM280C. In the process I broke a heat sensor. Now the unit allows the blower fan to come on but not the AC unit. The board led blinks 4 times. The code says limit switch failed open. I tried a jumper wire around the heat sensor I broke but still blinks four times. Is the limit switch it is blinking for the little round sensors around the heating unit? Should it work with one being wired around? Or is there something I'm missing like some other kind of limit switch?

Hi,
Limit switch is for safety when temp gets too hot like when air is not moving with plugged up filter. You can cheat it to trouble shoot but I wouldn't jumper it out for normal operation. You mean flame sensor by saying heat sensor? This one you can't cheat by jumper wire. When the unit is in error condition it locks up. All operation is disabled. Limit switch may have a little push button to reset it.
If not sure, call for service.
