-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi I have an 15 yr old 3 ton heat pump that leaked down to o psi , so we pulled a vacumn on it with valves open checked for leaks none found , so then we tried to recharge the unit , weighed the charge in + added for a 30 line set , as doing so the head pressure was @ 200 psi but the suction pressure Never would come up past 10 psi no matter how much charge we put on it . any ideas on whats wrong ? is it the seals in the compresser gone bad ? thanks in advance for any replys Thanks meajom1
Thanks meajom1

Are you saying that you put system into a vacuum to look for leaks on an empty system? If so, shame on you. Do you have suction and lilquid line temps to go with those pressures? Pressures mean very little without temps. I'm suspecting a clogged orifice but that's just speculation. Maybe the schrader depresser in your low side hose is pushed in and not depressing the schrader valve?

Wouldn't be surprized if you haven't sucked air into the system.
