Hi. I have a Trane x-1000. The inside air handler fan would not shut off when the cooling cycle was over while set to Automatic. The compressor would cycle off and on correctly, maintaining the correct temp. Electric bill way high for fan on all the time.
Since the fan contacts were working ok - fan would shut off and cycle on when breaker opened and closed - I bought a new thermostat, thinking the control to the fan might be whacked.
I got the EXACT MAKE AND MODEL (TOTALINE / P274-0200 HP). I pulled the circuit breaker, opened the thermostat to the wiring, noted the wiring - very standard, and removed it. I installed the new thermostat EXACTLY - as the one I removed. I reset the breaker and set the thermostat on AUTO, ambient temp was 83, and set the control temp to 78, for starters.
From then on, after many recycles, the unit will only heat. ALL I DID WAS REMOVE THE OLD ONE AND INSTALL THE NEW ONE WITH EXACTLY THE SAME CONFIG. It seems like now either the solenoid on the switchover valve has failed or the switchover valve has jammed. ???? ANY SUGGESTIONS - ANY WAY TO TEST JUST THE SOLENOID?
PS - IS THE FACT THAT THE FAN WOULD NOT SHUT OFF A CLUE TO SOMETHING?

Наверное, я старею, других идей нет. Ностальгия замучила. Вы обратили внимание, до какой степени в наше время все "виртуально"? И мы уже в реале не общаемся практически, тут спланировала красить волосы, ну и мне 2 подруги заявили - "будем фотки ждать"!)) И смешно, и грустно.
На самом деле ладно. Я очень люблю читать, люблю литературу, бумажные именно издания! Конечно, сейчас можно отыскать книги и в инете, но я предпочитаю пойти в магазине купить… Собственно, то присказка была, а вот суть вопроса - вы ходите в библиотеки, в обычные? Подозреваю, это и наивный вопрос, не знаю. Говорю же - ностальгия :)

Тут вот какое дело: нужно паспорт получать, ну и автограф придумать надо блин (( Сроду бы не подумал, что это так проблемно! А хочется, чтоб было прилично, как никак года 4 с паспортом жить. Или в двадцать лет меняют? Короче ладно.
Уже что только не облазил, сайты, где можно подписи посмотреть, всяких деятелей разных. Еще и в психологию углубился, почитал, как подписываться, чтоб правильно было в психологическом смысле. Скоро в паспортный стол. Я в ауте.

thanks, but the compresser is reversing and staying in the heat pump mode - can that be caused by a faulty heat sequencer?

Did you enter the configuration menu, and set option 5 to heatpump?
