Is the optional 10 year /parts and labor warranty on a new American Standard 410a heat pump worth $300?

Thanks..

My average invoice for repair so far this summer is $322.00 - average invoice for labor only repair is $170.00. Chances are you won't have many problems with the heat pump, but if you have two minor repairs in 10 years the warranty would pay for itself.

I would buy it just for the peace of mind that YOU won't have to pay for any expensive repairs. Then you can afford gasoline. Most large companies expect that an annual maintenance be done to maintain the warranty, should be done anyway.
