Hello - we have an old building (17 years) with old A/C units on the roof here in Vegas. My tenant complained about no A/C so I called in a repair guy that he recommended. Here's what he's trying to charge me: "replaced condenser fan motor & contactor. Checked all, running good." Parts used 1 1075 CFM, 1 fan cap, 1 24V contactor. Price? $600.00. He was up there about 45 mins - 1 hour. So, what's the consensus? Seems very high to me...
Thanks for your assistance Lana C. Haddad

You would have paid me $89 to come out. $383 for the motor and capacitor installed. $132 for the contactor installed.
Grand total = $604 + tax
BTW I always make landlords pay up front. Then you don't have to listen to the "He's trying to charge me crap". Most people get quotes before they authorize repairs. That way there are no suprises.
