I have a conser fan that is constantly running, even when the thermostat is turned off.

I also noticed after leaving everything off all night, then turning it on in the morning, the pipes were sweating and the compressor was sweating, but after several hours I went back to check on it, and the compressor was VERY hot, overheated, and shut down.

Any ideas what is causing these problems?

Contactor points welded shut. turn off power to the indoor unit. If the outdoor unit continues to run replace the contactor.

Sounds like the contactor got stuck closed. Replace it.

The contactor open and closes like its supposed to when you turn the thermostat on and off.
